THE JEAN AND KEN NORDQUIST STORY…

The Jean and Ken Nordquist Story

Jean and Ken have been active in the world of dollmaking since 1979, Married in 1976 and both being active crafters and with Jean's education as an art teacher, it was only natural their lives should take the course they did.

Jean started teaching porcelain antique reproduction dollmaking in 1979 when she could find no one to teach her. She quickly found many who wanted to learn. Ken joined her in business in 1985 when they bought their mold line. It grew to over 500 different heads over 20 years. They added a pattern line, china paints, brushes, and how to videos. Jean has judged and taught dollmaking for over 40 years. Since 1985 they have displayed their products at over 400 trade shows.

In 1999 she developed 8 dolls presented in boxes to allow them to travel by plane to a large doll show in Florida from Seattle. The idea was a big hit. Jean promised she' have a book out teaching how to make the box designs. This began her career in paper crafting, educating, and publishing.

When they sold their mold and pattern line in 2007 they continued to work in paper and Ken being a skilled woodworker started building dollhouses for which Jean designed the paper covering.
